FRANK MARTINUS ARION

Frank Martinus Arion moved to the Netherlands in 1955 and in 1981 returned to Curaçao, where he became the director of the Curaçao Language Institute that promoted the use of the native language, Papiamentu. His works include De laatste vrijheid (The Last Freedom) and Dubbelspel (Double Play). The latter novel is considered to be his magnum opus and was published in 1973. It was also turned into a movie in 2017. 

He wrote both in Papiamentu and in Dutch.
